Three verses, hell yes
I still ain’t get my Grammy’s in the mail yet
I just want my momma happy like a toy sale
And to stay connected to the world like a long ass voicemail
I hear the seams snappin’,
And I’m the team cap’in
No more knee slappin or shoe shining
Or shoe signing till the dream happens
I’m just gone keep rappin’
And y’all just keep clapping and keep happen
Like Flint got clean water and y’all don’t got teen daughters
And black friends and gay cousins
Y’all just don’t say nothin
Know that the day coming
Knees bowed, tongues confessin’
The last ones getting first dibs on blessings
Now these the first world problems that niggas make up
Keep on playin’, we gone shake this shit up
Keep on telling us we makin’ it up
The American dream, may you never wake up
It’s been awhile since I posted a playlist on my blog. As autumn (although it’s still summer in South Georgia) is officially upon us, I want to share some tunes that have served as the current soundtrack to my life. The tunes range in genres and contain some of my favorite and current favorite artists.
So without further ado…Here are 13 tracks that recap my September and serve as a soundtrack to the beginning of your autumn.
Ahh…Summer 2016 is finally upon us! Sure, summer may officially start in June, but as soon as exams were in, for me, summer began! This summer will be full of travel, fun, bright colors, graduation, a fleeky highlight, talks on the back porch with Mum, watching cowboy movies with Dad, hugging my Nana, self reflection, self love and re-connecting with my faith while finally establishing a firm base for my life. I want this summer to be full of purpose, passion, love, goals achieved and music!
Without further ado, here are eleven tracks to vibe to this summer.
To be honest, I can’t believe that March is already here! We’re only three months into 2016 and it has already been a whirlwind. Lately, I am wishing that time would slow down so I can catch up. Besides trying to stay positive and get adjusted to my new university, binge-watching Jane The Virgin (still on season one, so no spoilers please!), catching up on the K-Pop world (finally giving in to Red Velvet & so happy to see Ladies’ Code back!), and falling in love with some of my favorite blogs (post on that soon!). I’m also making part of my focus for March wellness. This means focusing on what I am consuming – physically, mentally and spiritually, working out as well as being good to myself and the people around me. February was a trying month, but I am ready to get focused and make things happen!
In honor of celebrating the start of a new month, I present to you Hey March! – ten tracks to get your spring started! Let me know what you think in the comments below!
